Marketing Specialists at Gap Technologies, Inc.

Gap Technologies, Inc. is looking for two marketing or communications majors to create/enhance a marketing system to advertise our products. Marketing specialists do a wide variety of tasks, dependent on what part of the marketing plan we are focusing on. Tasks might include: using SPSS to analyze customer surveys, market research, pricing research, creating promotions and brochures, or helping create a long term strategy. They will work closely with the marketing manager on these areas and are required to provide good ideas, hard work, and be willing to take feedback.

One previous marketing specialist had this to say about the internship:

The qualifications for a successful candidate are:  
   
 
Can commit for 3 months
-OR-
Can commit for 6 months
A) Able to work 12-15 hours per week
B) Understand that this may involve calling potential customers and earning a 20% commission on all sales that you are the primary contact for.
C) Motivated and have the ability to work on your own
D) Want experience designing a marketing campaign
E) Good at taking feedback from co-workers..
F) Have a desire to market online voting systems to college/university leaders
G) Willing to read 20-40 pages a month on Internet marketing tactics.
H) Strong pride in the products that you produce.
I) Want experience writing professional e-mails and advertisements.
J) Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel
K) If you are an international student, check with your advisor BEFORE submitting your resume to ensure that you are able to take the internship.
